The DNA Resource Center of the National Center for Victims of Crime, with support from Life Technologies,  is pleased to announce an exciting FREE training opportunity on forensic DNA for law enforcement professionals, prosecutors, medical personnel, and victim advocates at all levels of experience. The training, “The CSI Effect: Maximizing the Potential of Forensic DNA,” will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, July 10, 2012.  

 

Join us on July 10, 2012 in Atlanta, Georgia to hear from the nation’s leading experts in forensic DNA, including a cold case detective, a retired New York City Homicide investigator, a survivor/advocate, and scientific and public policy experts. We will demystify the function of the CODIS database; review best practices for working cold cases; discuss using DNA in missing persons and trafficking cases; explore crime scene evidence collection and Touch DNA; and discuss innovations in the criminal justice use of DNA such as familial searching and rapid DNA testing.
